The GTL plant, built to expand the country's potential for deep processing of natural gas, radically reduce the import of hydrocarbons, and strengthen the energy independence of the republic, today opens up new opportunities for the development of the oil and gas industry.

The Uzbekistan GTL plant, which is one of the largest investment projects in Uzbekistan, is starting a new stage in the development of the domestic industry. At the initiative of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, this project was implemented in a short time.

As previously reported, on June 29, 2022, Uzbekneftegaz JSC officially announced that the Uzbekistan GTL plant produced the first synthetic diesel products in the history of the petrochemical industry of Uzbekistan. Also in June, for the first time in the history of Uzbekistan, the production of synthetic oil was launched at the Uzbekistan GTL plant.

As part of the localization and expansion of production, on July 22, 2022, the first batch of synthetic GTL naphtha was accepted at the Bukhara oil refinery, from which the production of popular models of motor gasoline will be launched.

The Bukhara oil refinery plans to receive 5,000 tons of synthetic GTL naphtha every month. The manufactured products will be primarily supplied to cover the internal needs of the Republic in oil products.

GTL naphtha is a valuable feedstock for the petrochemical industry and its most important process, steam cracking. The effectiveness of GTL naphtha is determined by the fact that when it is used as a raw material, the volume of the product yield and the quality of the final product increase. GTL naphtha has a high paraffin content and a low aromatic content compared to petrochemical naphtha produced by refineries.

The first batch of synthetic diesel fuel in the amount of 10 tons from the Uzbekistan GTL plant was solemnly sent through the water arches to the Navoi Mining and Metallurgical Combine.
