August 2009 – Kick-off of the Project’s FEED 1 phase (preliminary design).

October 2009 – Issue of the First Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

December 2009 – Foundation of Uzbekistan GTL LLC.

September 2011 – Completion of the Project’s Pre-Feasibility Study.

 

September 2011 – Execution of the Project Agreements. 

 

 

September 2011 –  Issue of the second Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

October 2011 – Completion of FEED 1 phase and start of FEED 2 phase (basic design).

 

 

July 23, 2012 – the Plant’s groundbreaking ceremony and presentation of the Project's OLTIN YO'L GTL trademark.

 

 

 

July 2012 – Breaking the world record. The largest light image was created. The achievement is registered by

the Guinness Book of World Records. On the night of July 22-23, a huge glowing image of the

GTL Plant was lit in Shurtan in Kashkadarya region of Uzbekistan. It took more than a million LED lamps to create

an image that covered an area of more  than 750 thousand m2 (the exact number is 1012840).

  

 

 

December 2013 – Execution of EPC Contract for construction of the GTL Plant with the consortium

of Hyundai Engineering Co. Ltd., Hyundai Engineering and Construction Co., Ltd (Republic of Korea)

and Enter Engineering Pte. Ltd.  (Singapore).

 

January 2014 – Commencement of the Construction Site preparation works of the future Plant in Kashkadarya region.

 

 

 

September 2015 – Completion of the Construction Site preparation works in Kashkadarya region. 

 

 

October 2016 – Uzbekneftegaz JSC repurchases 44% of foreign companies’ share in the authorized capital

of Uzbekistan GTL LLC and becomes a 100% founder of the Company.

November 2016 – Completion of FEED 2 phase (basic design) and issue of notification to the Project’s

EPC Contractor to proceed with the works under the EPC Contract.

December 2016 – Completion of the Feasibility Study.

December 2016 – Issue of the third Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

December 2016 – Opening of financing at the expense of the Fund for Reconstruction

and Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

 

 

February 24, 2017 – Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s visit to the Construction Site of the Plant, as part

of the visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Kashkadarya Region.

Announcement of the idea of creating the first gas chemical cluster in the region

on the basis of the Shurtan Gas Chemical Complex, through integration

of the Shurtan Gas Chemical Complex and GTL Plant.

 

March 4, 2017 – The first shipment of components of the Fischer-Tropsch Reactors from Mumbai port (India) to the Construction Site. 

 

 

March 2017 – Meetings were held in Seoul with representatives of EXIM Bank of the Republic of Korea,

as well as in Beijing with the leadership of the China Development Bank,

for discussion of the project finance issues.

April 5, 2017 – Execution of the Framework Project Finance Agreement entered into

by Gazprombank JSC and Export Credit Agency of the Russian Federation.

 

 

May 11-13, 2017 – Execution of USD 1.2 billion project finance agreement with CDB during

the state visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan to China.

 

 

July 4, 2017 – Commencement of earthworks at Plant’s Construction Site in Kashkadarya region,

in the territory of future operational areas.

 

 

July 2017 – Project Lenders meeting was held in Tashkent in order to agree on the terms, arrangement procedures

and mechanisms of the project finance.

 

 

 

August 8, 2017 – Approval of Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan

on organization of construction of the Project’s industrial, road transport, energy, railway and other infrastructure.

September 20-21, 2017 – Regular meeting of Lenders in Tashkent, with substantive negotiations

on the Lenders’ requirements and conditions, financing schedule and further actions.

 

 

October 24-26, 2017 – General regular meeting of Lenders in Tashkent for discussion of the Draft Term Sheet

 

 

November 3, 2017 – During the visit of the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation to Tashkent,

Uzbekistan GTL LLC and Gazprombank JSC signed a USD 120 million loan agreement for advanced financing.

 

 

November 22-25, 2017 – During the state visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Republic of Korea,

Uzbekneftegaz JSC and EXIM Bank of Korea signed a USD 600 million Project Finance Agreement. 

 

 

December 13-15, 2017 – A regular meeting of Project Lenders held in Tashkent. The event was attended by representatives of

CDB, KEXIM, K-Sure, Gazprombank JSC and EXIAR JSC, as well as the Company and lenders’ legal and financial consultants. 

 

 

August 27, 2018 – Installation of the lower part of the first Fischer-Tropsch Reactor on foundation in the Plant’s operational area. 

 

 

December 13, 2018 During the visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sh. M. Mirziyoyev to Kashkadarya region, he visited the GTL Plant Construction Site.

After careful consideration of all aspects, we have decided to implement the project of historical significance for production

of synthetic liquid fuel, which will replace imports totaling USD 1 billion.

This is very important for economic stability of Uzbekistan.  There was no such product slate in the industry until now. Sh. M. Mirziyoyev.

 

 

December 15, 2018 – Official ceremony of signing the financing documents under the “Production of synthetic liquid fuel

based on purified methane of Shurtan Gas Chemical Complex” investment project totaling USD 2.3 billion, was held in Tashkent.

April 17, 2019 Issue of the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On additional measures

for arranging financing of “Production of synthetic liquid fuel based on purified methane

of the Shurtan Gas Processing Complex” investment project.

April 2019 – Project cost optimization by USD 121 million - from USD 3.73 billion to USD 3.61 billion

through foundation of a single petrochemical cluster with a shared infrastructure under the concept

of coherent implementation of the Investment project and “Expansion of production capacity

of Shurtan Gas Chemical Complex” investment project as well as lower interest

rates and insurance premiums for foreign loans.

April 26, 2019 – Issue of Sovereign Guarantee of the Republic of Uzbekistan by the Ministry

of Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Project Lenders for obligations of Uzbekistan GTL LLC.

May 7, 2019 – The first drawdown of the loan funds of China Development Bank.

 

 

July 2019 Completion of construction of the Accommodation Camp for the GTL Plant specialists.

 

 

July 2019 – The Company's specialists completed production internship at the OryxGTL plant in Qatar.

 

 

September 2019 – Full completion of assembly and installation of main bodies of Fischer-Tropsch Reactors.

 

 

October-November 2019 – Establishment of Uzbekistan GTL’s scholarship program for gifted oil and gas profile students.

The first 12 winners of the scholarship program were awarded.

July 11, 2020 The Construction Site recorded the lowest number of working personnel - 244 people, due to introduction

of quarantine restrictions related to the coronavirus pandemic. Construction and installation works were suspended.

 

  

 

October 24, 2020 – Commencement of the first power receipt supplied by “National Electric Networks of Uzbekistan”

JSC to the GTL Plant, which kick started the key pre-commissioning and commissioning works

of the Plant's process equipment and units.

  

 

    

 

December 12-13, 2020 – Awarding ceremony of the winners of Uzbekistan GTL’s Second scholarship program for gifted

oil and gas profile students. The Program identified 12 winners and 18 active participants,

who became a part of the Company's candidate’s pool.

 

 

 

December 2020 – Construction Site recorded the highest number of working personnel exceeding 13.6 thousand people.

 

 

 

December 2020 – Start-up of the Plant’s Central Control Panel and Compressed Air Production Unit for I&C system.

January 2021  Appointment of Marcel Krause, a Canadian citizen, as a Technical Director of Uzbekistan GTL.

For the last 10 years, he has been the Technical Manager of the OryxGTL Plant in Qatar.
