In order to ensure implementation of Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On measures to create a training and production cluster of  oil and gas industry”, according to instruction of Mehriddin Abdullayev, the Chairman of the Board of Uzbekneftegaz JSC, the industry sees consistent efforts taken  to recruit  talent pipeline of Uzbekistan GTL Plant with promising young specialists,  with cooperation established with Uzbek universities in the area of human resources training.

In total, 102 students were selected for Internship program at Uzbekistan GTL Plant, for whom a special Uzbekistan GTL-Internship program was implemented. As a result of the program, 20 talented 4th year students with a high degree of knowledge, were selected and recruited at Uzbekistan GTL Plant at the end of the academic year.

In July-August of this year, 18 talented 3rd year students who successfully passed qualifying stages of the Internship program were employed as production workers at Uzbekistan GTL Plant under temporary employment contract with a monthly salary. The same conditions were created for trainees as for the Plant’s staff, and they were also provided with a special uniform, protective equipment, 3-time hot meals a day, accommodation and transport within the Plant.

I was admitted to Uzbekistan GTL Plant  from June 20,2022 to Uzbekistan GTL-Internship  program. At the end of the program, we passed several exams, interviews, and  temporary employment contracts were concluded with us. We worked here as the Plant’s staff, that is, trainees. Here we explored the basic technological processes, tools and equipment that I studied at my university, learned  their principles and design. For me it was a very important practice. I have further strengthened my knowledge gained at the university, and my interest in my field has grown exponentially. During the internship, the Plant’s management arranged for us all conditions, accommodation, meals, transportation, and we are very grateful. Once I graduate from university, I will work hard to get a job at this Plant,” said Amal Khanbekov, a 3rd year student of Tashkent State Technical University.

Such a program acts as an important step for students to understand how honorable and, at the same time, highly responsible the work in our country’s oil and gas industry is, and importance of hard work and learning to become a mature specialist in this field.

To recap, on December 25, 2021, at the opening ceremony of Uzbekistan GTL Plant, the head of our state Sh. Mirziyoyev commissioned  to review educational programs in educational institutions of oil and gas sector based on modern requirements, and put in place student practices and internship programs at Uzbekistan GTL Plant.

It is planned to implement Uzbekistan GTL-Internship program for talented students on an ongoing basis.
