In order to ensure execution  of instructions given by Shavkat Miromonovich Mirziyoyev, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and to review the progress of works at the GTL Plant, on May 27, 2022 Mekhriddin Abdullayev, the Chairman of the Board of Uzbekneftegaz JSC, visited the Plant.

The Chairman of the Board studied the final start-up works of the Plant.

During the visit, the processes of final commissioning works of the GTL Plant were given a detailed review, including preparatory works for oxygen production, completion of commissioning works in Fischer-Tropsch reactors of the Synthetic Liquids Production Unit, and preparation for manufacture of products. Responsible specialists and managers were given tasks to streamline these works.

In addition, the Chairman of the Board studied readiness of the Plant for start-up of the Synthetic Gas Production Unit. The design of this Unit with a special autothermal reactor, was developed under the license of Haldor Topsoe (Denmark). This reactor is a place of physical and chemical reactions of a mixture of gaseous methane, oxygen and hydrogen at a temperature of 3000 degrees, which result in synthesis gas generation.

To date, 19 out of 22 process units have been fully commissioned, being operated and are in good working order, and the remaining three units see a completion of commissioning works (Synthesis gas, Synthetic liquid and Finished products units).

At the moment, three boilers of the Plant are fully operational and produce 556 t/h of high, medium and low-pressure steam. The steam generators generate a total of 30 MW/h of electricity, part of which is transferred to the National Electric Networks of Uzbekistan JSC system. Since the beginning of the year, the Plant have transferred 10.5 thousand MW / h of electricity to the system of National Electric Network of Uzbekistan JSC.

The GTL Plant is now accepting methane from Shurtan Gas Chemical Complex. The Plant’s water preparation, processing, primary and biological treatment and cooling units are fully operational, the Plant is accepting raw water and producing filtered, desalinated and demineralized water.

The Plant produces high-purity hydrogen and nitrogen.

At the end of the visit, the Chairman of the Board of Uzbekneftegaz JSC chaired a working meeting with participation of the heads and managers of the Plant's production departments, who were given   instructions to complete  commissioning works and start-up  production at the earliest possible date.

In addition, the Chairman of the Board instructed to significantly reduce imports, ensure uninterrupted supplies of fuel products and further strengthen industrial cooperation with local producers.

Once commissioned, the GTL Plant will produce a total of 1.5 million tons of high-quality synthetic fuel products (diesel, naphtha, liquefied gas, kerosene).
